Activities

Planned by John Anderson, Fermoy is one of the few towns in Ireland, designed to face the river.

Fermoy is centrally located in Munster in County Cork, with counties, Kerry, Tipperary, Waterford and Limerick within easy reach.

We have found with our guests that their reason for choosing Fermoy is its central location, its natural beauty and its proximity to airports and ferry ports.

Over the past two centauries, Fermoy has held onto its wonderful character and the River Blackwater is still the centrepiece of this beautiful town.

River and Square

The river is also central to a wonderful range of activities, rowing, kayaking, canoeing and of course, fishing.

This video was shot along Barnane, Fermoy and the rowers featured are Irish, European and World Champions from Fermoy Rowing Club.

Just a half hour drive from Fermoy is the world famous Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail.  This 95 km track caters for all levels of mountain bikers who want to use these specially designed tracks through the most beautiful Ballyhoura Mountains and woods.
Walking is also marvelously catered for through the most beautiful scenery in Ireland.

Also in Fermoy are:Fermoy Golf Club, Fermoy GAA / Pitch & Putt, golf driving range, Blackwater Triathlon. A children’s play ground, a Swimming Pool and a Fitness Centre are just across the road in Fermoy Town Park.
